from MODels to usAge of large scaLe InfraStructures

Modalis is a research group of the I3S laboratory Computer Science, Signals and Systems in Sophia Antipolis. I3S is a joint research laboratory of the French National Research Center CNRS and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis (UMR CNRS 6070).

MODALIS aims at modeling and exploiting large-scale distributed computing infrastructures such as grids and clouds. Research works include the design of flexible service architectures taking into account user needs (distributed deployment, business code wrapping, quality of service). To optimize performances, complex and evolving distributed system models are also developed. The research outputs are tools helping users to manage and leverage large scale infrastructures for the needs of their data intensive applications. In particular, MODALIS has an expertise in distributed medical image analysis procedures.
